CRONÓMETRO

Cronómetro is an installation by Denise Lira-Ratinoff at the Museo de Arte Visual in Santiago. In room 5, an ocean filmed by the artist in 4K is projected onto 430 m² of salt floor. Visitors watch it from the museum entrance and from a tunnel with a glass floor.

Trimex handled the digital installation and the video mapping of the floor. Three 8,000 ANSI lumen laser projectors cover the surface, run from MadMapper with scheduled playback.

The room's pillars block the light and cast shadows on the floor. A second computer maps those areas remotely, and the blends are split into sectors around each pillar, so the base of every pillar receives projection all the way around.

The show was open from 5 January to 10 February 2019.
